Background

Present

I am a Lecturer at the Finance Department in Auckland University of Technology (AUT) Business School. Prior to joining AUT I obtained my PhD from Purdue University. My research focuses on topics in empirical corporate finance, investments and institutional trading. Most of my work is motivated by empirical research, and I get excited about factors that influence stock returns, institutional investors' trading behavior and role of corporate boards on firm's profitability. Further details on my current and past research projects can be found here. Before joining Purdue I was working as a Research Associate at Indian Institute of Management , Bangalore. Prior to that, I was an Equity Analyst at a buy-side trading desk at STCI Finance Ltd. (an RBI subsidiary). I have a Post-Graduation Diploma in Finance and a Bachelor's degree in commerce (Accounting) from India. I also hold Financial Risk Management (FRM) certification awarded by Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) and I am a CFA candidate from the CFA Institute.
